WELCOME TO ISSUE 19 OF
THE [PALM] SUNDAY TIMES
It's June! How?? I'm supposedly launching a collection this month (gasp!) and I haven't even landed on a firm date yet. I'm going to be sure to decide that this week and include it in next week's newsletter.
I'm also making a lot of purchases this month in preparation for my July travels. I posted a question in stories on Instagram this past week and you were all so helpful with your responses! I haven't bought any new clothes in quite a while (I try to only thrift), but I wanted some special items to wear in Portugal. I asked you to share with me your favorites for dresses, tees, and swimsuits & below I'll share the brands you recommended and a few that I've discovered while browsing.
So pour yourself a cup of tea and get comfy.

PEARLS FOR JUNE

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JUNE BABES!
It's no secret how much I love pearls. I include them in every collection in some shape or form. I wanted to highlight a few things that are currently ready to ship in case you had a June baby in your life and aren't sure what to get them. Above is the Baby Akoya Pearl Necklace from the Divino Collection. These Japanese pearls are of super high quality, very rare, and very revered in the Japanese culture. They are knotted by hand on silk with a 14k gold clasp. This would also be such a special gift for a grad!

Keeping with the tiny pearl theme, above are our two La Perla bands featuring dainty seed pearls in either the wave-like shape of the Onda, or a versatile Straight band. Both of these are available made-to-order to your size, or ready-to-ship in size 7.

My favorite pair of earrings from Divino are still available! They are the Lavender Quartz and Pearl Earrings. Made with the most radiant lavender quartz and lustrous pearls, these would be an amazing gift for a mom with a June birthday or a sweet push present!

Also, don't forget that the Cloud Pearl Rings are always available. They are made-to-order, so may not work for a last minute gift, but definitely something to keep in mind for next time.
Lots of Pearl Vessels will be available in a couple weeks, so maybe you could score one of those for yourself or someone else!
GET IN LOSER

WE'RE GOING SHOPPING (MAYBE)
Huge thanks to everyone who responded to my question about where to shop these days. I'm spoiled to have such good thrifting (and a partner who gets my style and thrifts for me) here in St. Pete. Which means I haven't been to a retail store in ages! I have bought a few things online (maybe 2 or 3) over the last 4 years from Quince and Everlane, but was curious who your favorite brands were. There were some real standouts in that multiple people suggested and raved about them. And then there were some cool under-the-radar brands that I probably would never have come across if it weren't for your tips.
DRESSES
- Doen was the crowd favorite along with Christy Dawn
- Free People and Anthropologie came in close second
- Honorable Mentions: Modern Citizen, For Days, Marcella NYC, Kinga Csilla, Boden, Nobody's Child, Dissh, Rachel Comey, And Sezane.
BASICS
- Again, there was a very clear favorite with Quince
- Close second was Madewell
- Honorable Mentions: Buck Mason, Le Set, Flore, Old Navy, Le Bon Shop, and VRG
SWIM
- Holy Smokes, y'all LOVE Youswim. Of all the brands suggested, Youswim was mentioned the most.
- Close second goes to Left on Friday
- Honorable Mentions: Monday Swim, J Crew, Nettle's Tale, Hunza G, Andie, Montce, Blackbough, Kulani Kinis
SUSTAINABLE
- PACT and Curator SF were mentioned the most
- LA Relaxed, Bacal, Everlane, OZMA, and the marketplace Noihsaf Bazaar were also mentioned
Brands not mentioned but that I'm considering: AYR, Juillet, Apiece Apart, Trovata, and La Ligne
Honestly, I'm a little overwhelmed. It feels so much easier to just pop over to the thrift store and browse for a bit than to go to all the individual sites! I do wonder how fashion even sustains itself these days. Especially independent brands. One suggestion was to go to my local boutique to find items, which I'm sad to say, I didn't even think of! But I definitely will check out a few.
Some sites recommended to check the ethos of brands were https://goodonyou.eco/ and Commons, the sustainable lifestyle app.
