Hilma af Klint (1862 - 1944)
WELCOME TO ISSUE 33 OF
THE [PALM] SUNDAY TIMES
For this week's issue I want to share with you a glimpse at what I'm working on for the coming weeks, months, and year ahead. I'm always working on at least two collections at once (while producing one I'm also concepting the next) and I want to share with you what that next collection will be about. I also want to share some important dates for you to keep in mind for the holidays that will no doubt be here in no time.
So pour yourself a cup of tea and get comfy.
"Creativity is a magnet. It draws what it needs toward the maker, and the maker amplifies this attraction by staying receptive, engaged, and aware."
- Pam Grossman
A book I recently picked up by happenstance is Magic Maker by Pam Grossman. I went to my local bookshop to pick up my favorite writing pens (le pen flex) and saw this book on the main entry table display. I'm a sucker for any book about creativity (see my last recommendation for Rick Rubin's book) and this book is so far super interesting. I'm only half of the way through but keeping an open mind and enjoying another perspective on how to tap into one's creative potential.
THE NEXT COLLECTION

SURPRISE! IT'S MARGARET
I think some of you may have suspected this, but it's time to make the official announcement that my next collection (due out in Spring of 2026) will be inspired by my 13th great grandmother, Margaret Pole. And more specifically, this portrait of her. If you're like, "Margaret, who?", go back and read this issue, it's a fun one.
I especially wanted to make this announcement before Paradiso II released because this next collection will be very monochrome. If you're a lover of color, Paradiso II might be your last chance to score some from PS for a while.
Why go monochrome? Several reasons. One, I'm just feeling dark. Paradiso was a wonderful exercise in escapism during a tough year. I celebrated the place that makes me feel the most calm and safe, our favorite little beach cove. But after nearly 11 months of the chaos of this year, I'm ready to leave escapism and bathe in the depths of my true feelings of ... darkness? I chose the Hilma Af Klint painting for the header of this issue because to me it exemplifies this shift, going from beautiful pastels that make me feel joyful and buoyant, and surrendering to the truth of my emotions- disbelief, confusion, and oftentimes despair. I think of jewelry as art and I do believe that art should be a faithful representation of the times.
Secondly, I think forgoing color will help me as an artist to pay more attention to form. If the stones have been the heroes of collections past, this time the forms of the rings and the details will be the heroes. I think it's important to focus on both, rotating every now and then, so you don't rely too heavily on someone else's (the miners, the gem cutters) talent and skill.
Third - the black and white church architecture from my recent trip to The Azores in Portugal was so striking. I loved what the builders accomplished with the black volcanic rock and white plaster that was available to them at the time. Again, the forms and the details are really what stood out and I gathered so much inspiration to bring back to the studio.
Lastly, I feel really called to celebrate Margaret and the way she has overseen my career thus far. I'm excited to go deeper into her life and story and let her guide what comes out.

Here is a glimpse at what I've pinned so far on Pinterest for this collection. There are floral elements inspired by Margaret's honeysuckle, black enamel, old diamonds, and more spirals. More details to come in the coming months as I prepare for my annual stone sourcing trip to Tucson in late January.
