My Travels Pt. 1
Among the many careers I've tried on over the years, "Photojournalist" is one that I still dream about. When I was small, my parents received Conde Nast Traveler in the mail every month and I used to pour over the masthead, envisioning my name there as a writer or contributor, seeing my black & white headshot amongst the other cool, rugged globe-trotters. Even though my passions shifted towards fashion and then to jewelry, I still carry my camera with me every time we leave town..It dawned on me the other day that I haven't published the mass of photos I've taken anywhere other than my now defunct tumblr (its still there, just not updated, if you want a laugh). I usually edit them and then forget about them, leaving them to sit on my hard drive along with the other rough drafts of essays and graphics that will never get used..Because Covid-19 has us all house-bound and this is the first year Dave and I won't be taking a trip together in 5 years, and the first year in probably 15 that I won't likely be traveling abroad, I decided to take a day to just sit and go through every photo I've taken while traveling to reminisce and appreciate all the times I was fortunate enough to experience another way of life. I also thought it would be a good idea to share them with you in case you're also missing out on a much anticipated trip this year and in need of an outlet for your wanderlust.x,Lauren
