WELCOME TO ISSUE 37 OF
THE [PALM] SUNDAY TIMES
Just two short weeks remain until the launch of Paradiso II! I have so far shown six of the ten rings that will become available on Small Business Saturday (November 29th) at 3pm ET. This week on instagram I'll introduce the remaining four rings and I'll show the entire collection in next Sunday's issue.
For this week, I want to feature the two new gemstone rings I debuted this week on Instagram in case you missed them. I'll also feature the "Poca Favilla" ring that I engraved for Paradiso.
So pour yourself a cup of tea and get comfy.
"It takes tremendous courage to alchemize parts of our internal world into something external and tangible."
-Amie McNee
I treated myself to a giant copy of Cabinet of Curiosities by Taschen this week for reaching a career milestone. I love starting my day by looking through this compendium of collections. I myself am a huge collector of things - seashells, hourglasses, antique religious icons, etc, so seeing how others have neatly arranged their collections is really fun to see. They also sell a smaller version of this book if you don't want to splurge on the coffee table size.
THE NEW GEMSTONE RINGS

A GROSSULAR GARNET AND A MONTANA SAPPHIRE
I am thrilled with how these two rings turned out for Paradiso. They feature two of my favorite stones I sourced while in Tucson this past February. First is a Moyo Gems Grossular Garnet that was mined in Kenya by Phillip and cut by Nadine Marshall. I especially love both of these rings because I can tell you the names of who mined the stones, who cut the stones, and who sold them to me! It's very rare in the gemstone world to have that much transparency and info.
The second ring is an effervescent mint Montana Sapphire. It was mined by Neal and Debbie Hurni of Lewis and Clark Sapphires. It was cut by Tony Ritchie in Montana and sold to me by Neal and Debbie when I met up with them in Tucson. They are such wonderful people! I hope to one day visit them and their mine in Helena. If you've ever been interested in gemstone cutting, Tony has a great video on his site about how he cuts a sapphire similar in style to this one.
These are the two cathedral style rings from this upcoming collection - which one is your favorite? Tourmaline on top and sapphire on the bottom.
THE POCA FAVILLA RING
AN ODE TO DANTE'S PARADISO
Iresearched Dante Alighieri's Paradiso while I was working on Parts I and II. One quote that stuck with me from his work was "Poca favilla gran fiamma seconda," which translates to "From a small spark can come a mighty flame." One of the reasons I find that quote so powerful is that it can apply to many things - a small inspiration that can turn into a great piece of art, a chance encounter that can turn into a romance, a small form of protest that can spark a movement. It all adds up. I do feel like I'm never doing enough, so wearing this ring daily makes me feel like I am accomplishing everything I can. In the aggregate, it is great progress!
This ring is made to order, to your size and hand-engraved in Roman letters with a small spark. I will also debut a custom version of this ring. You'll be able to choose up to 6 words to be engraved on a 4mm wide band like this.
Thanks so much for following along,
Lauren
